News from the Bayous or The Logic of the Ten Commandments (June 2024)
The Governor of Louisiana has signed into Law the compulsory display of the Ten Commandments in public classrooms. We shall assume here one of the several versions he may have had in mind.
	COMMANDMENT	OBSERVATIONS	LEGAL CONSEQUENCES
1	Thou shalt have no other gods before Me.	Implies there are other gods.	Make a list of other gods. Describe the measures to be taken regarding classroom students who observe the religions of:	Confucianism; Taoism; Buddhism; Hinduism ; Jainism; Sikhism; Arianism; Gnosticism; Bogomilism; Catharism; Paulicianism; Sethianism; Valentinianism; Nestorianism; Maronitism ; Othodoxism; Mormonism; Unitarianism; Islamism; Sufism; Madkhalism; Wahhabism; Judaism; Manichaeism, and scores more.
2	Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image or idols neither kneel before them nor worship them.	Represents the basis of most religious art.	Ban most religious art throughout the land, destroy most forms of religious art, including in museums; institutionalize and regulate the general practice of Auto-da-fé.
3	Thou shalt not take the name of the Lord thy God in vain.	Cursing is a deplorable habit indeed.	Make all forms of cursing strictly illegal and punishable by law for all throughout the Land.
4	Remember the Sabbath day.		Make sure to formally designate the day, since it varies according to creed.
5	Honour thy father and thy mother.	Indeed!	Make it a law, strictly enforceable and punishable by imprisonment and fine throughout the Land.
6	Thou shalt not murder.	Is indeed illegal for all and punishable by law throughout the Land.	Ban perhaps the practice of capital punishment.
7	Thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's wife, nor commit adultery.	Is indeed exceedingly bad behaviour, which however supports financially millions of professionals throughout the Land.	The institution of divorce shall be strictly banned and all adulterers sent to forced labor throughout the Land.
8	Thou shalt not steal.	Is indeed illegal for all and punishable by law throughout the Land.
9	Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbour.	Is indeed illegal for all and punishable by law throughout the Land.
10	Thou shalt not covet his slaves, or his animals, or anything of thy neighbour.	Is the basis of capitalist economy, profit, and society.	Ban capitalist economy, profit, and society; ban all forms of stock exchange; strictly enforce equality of revenue and assets for all; shall apply also to the Government and its tax collectors throughout the Land.
FINALLY, IMPOSE STRICT DOMESTIC AND INTERNATIONAL SANCTIONS ON ALL JURISDICTIONS WHICH MAY NOT STRICTLY OBSERVE AND ENFORCE SIMILAR REQUIREMENTS. IF NEEDED, SENT THE ARMY AND NAVY.
